There are many products on the market that claim to be able to help in the anti aging department, many tout the types of vitamins they contain, especially skin creams advertised to be able to help the skin appear younger. One of the problems with many creams containing anti aging vitamins is that the vitamins that might actually be able to do some good are not readily absorbed into the skin. It is not a secret that many vitamins and minerals provide good results in helping people remain healthy. It may not be as well known that a few of them work well as anti aging vitamins.

Selenium, a mineral currently undergoing testing for anti aging properties such as rejuvenating elasticity in the skin and preventing many forms of cancer, including skin cancer. Recent tests are showing its promise as part of an anti aging vitamins formula when taken internally as well as in advanced formulas of skin creams containing products that help it be absorbed.

Vitamins C and E are also being used as anti aging vitamins, but their use in lotions and creams has shown somewhat limited success. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that has shown to reduce the activity of free radicals, rendering them less powerful in causing skin damage.

Helping Protect The Body’s Largest Organ

The skin is the most important organ in the body, as well as the largest, and Vitamin C is known for the many health benefits it provides. Vitamin C, according to recent studies, reacts badly to sunlight and even short exposure to ultraviolet rays can reduce the level of this vitamin in the skin drastically. Anti aging vitamins with Vitamin C, taken internally, can help provide a good source of the vitamin, because when it is applied as a lotion or cream, its effectiveness is reduced by simple exposure to the sun.

As studies continue to develop ways to use these three important ingredients in a form that can be absorbed by the skin, their use as anti aging vitamins continues to be studied. Some researchers believe that if they can reduce to potential for developing skin cancer, as well as working together as an antioxidant and in rendering free radicals useless inside the body, they can be used in as anti aging vitamins, especially if taken internally.

There may be some benefits to applying these vitamins and minerals directly onto the skin, but by the time these ingredients are absorbed, the amount remaining may be insignificant. Research will continue to find the formulation that makes anti aging vitamins more absorbent than most formulations are today.
